INDUSTRY IN 2018

The index of industrial production in 2018 was estimated to
increase by 10.41% compared to the previous year. Of which, the mining
and quarrying went down 17.30%; the manufacturing grew by 14.88%;
the production and distribution of electricity, gas and hot water grew up
12.44%; the water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation
services expanded 19.31%.
Main products had positive influences on the index in 2018 as
follows:
- Other kaolin and kaolin clay increased by 12.11%;
- Cane sugar rose 14.69%;
- Tofu increased by 30.28%
- Plywood increased 5.81%;
- Production electricity jumped by 6.45%;
The index of shipment of the manufacturing industry in 2018
decreased by 5.81% compared to 2017. However, some of industries had
advantages of large production scale, essential product types and high
index of shipment:
- Apparel production increased by 12.38%;
- Processing wood and producing products from wood, bamboo
(except beds, cabinets, tables, chairs); production of products from straw,
straw and plaited materials increased by 41.30%;
- Printing, copying records of all kinds up 78.19%
- Production from rubber and plastic increased by 57.10%;
- Production of products from other non-metallic minerals increased
by 18.98%
- Production of beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs increased 17.44%
The index of inventory of the manufacturing industries in 2018
decreased by 36.56% compared with 2017. Although the general index
of inventory of the manufacturing industries decreased compared to
2017, some of them still had higher index than the figures in 2017:
- Food processing increased by 24.94%
- Processing wood and producing products from wood, bamboo
(except beds, cabinets, tables, chairs); production of products from straw,
straw and plaited materials increased by 270.0%;
- Other processing and manufacturing industries 62.42%;
