POPULATION, LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT
IN 2019

1. Population

Average population in 2019 in the province was 855,804
persons, an increase of 5,391 persons, equivalent to 0.63% over 2018,
of which the urban population was 134,749 persons, accounting for
15.75%; the rural population was 721,055 persons, accounting for
84.25%; the male and female population was 427,836 persons and
427,968 persons, respectively with the corresponding share of 49.99%
and 50.01%.

The total fertility rate in 2019 reached 2.34 children per woman,
which continued remaining the replacement level fertility. The sex
ratio of population was 99.96 males per 100 females; the crude birth
rate was 15.30‰ and the crude death rate was 7.80‰ The infant
mortality rate was 16.50‰ The under-5 children mortality rate was
24.80‰ The average life expectancy at birth in the province was 72.7
years in 2019, of which the average life expectancy of the male was
70.0 years and the average life expectancy of the female was 75.4
years.
2. Labor and employment

Labor force aged 15 years and over in the province was
estimated at 556,473 persons, a growth of 3,458 persons over 2018, of
which the male employee shared 50.32%; the female employee
accounted for 49.68%; the employee in the urban and rural areas was
13.19% and 86.81%, respectively.

The labor force aged 15 years and over engaging in economic
activities in 2019 was estimated at 553,424 persons, a rise of 3,479
persons over 2018, accounting for 64.67% of total population, of
which the male labor accounted for 64.87% and the female labor was
64.46%; the labor in the urban area was 53.72% and the labor in the
rural area was 66.71%.
