POPULATION, LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT
IN 2018

1. Population

Average population in 2018 in the province was 846,119
persons, an increase of 7,276 persons, equivalent to 0.87% over 2017,
of which the urban population was 124,757 persons, accounting for
14.74%; the rural population was 721,362 persons, accounting for
85.26%; the male and female population was 423,092 persons and
423.027 persons, respectively with the corresponding share of 50.00%
and 50.00%.

The total fertility rate in 2018 reached 2.39 children per woman,

which continued remaining the replacement level fertility. The sex
ratio of population was 100.02 males per 100 females; the crude birth
rate was 15.73‰ and the crude death rate was 6.81‰.The infant
mortality rate was 16.54‰. The under-5 children mortality rate was
24.88‰. The average life expectancy at birth in the province was 72.6
years in 2018, of which the average life expectancy of the male was
70.0 years and the average life expectancy of the female was 75.4

years.

Labor and employment
Labor force aged 15 years and over in the province was
estimated at 556,442 persons, a growth of 2,769 persons over 2017,

of which the male employee shared 50.02%; the female employee
accounted for 49.98%; the employee in the urban and rural areas was
11.96% and 88.04%, respectively.

The labor force aged 15 years and over engaging in economic
activities in 2018 was estimated at 553,417 persons, a rise of 1,982
persons over 2017, accounting for 65.41% of total population, of
which the male labor accounted for 65.46% and the female labor was
