1. Health and public healthcare

As of 31st December 2017 there were 374 health establishments
in the province (of which 224 State health establishments and 150
private health establishments), consisting of: 14 hospitals; 210 health
centers in communes, wards; 150 other health establishments. At the
same period, there were 2,062 patient beds, equivalent to 100.0%
compared to 2017, of which there were 2,062 beds in the hospitals.

The number of patient bed per 10,000 inhabitants in 2018 was 25
beds, equivalent to 104.17% compared to average figure of 2017.
The number of health staff as of 31st December 2018 was 3,741
persons, a year-on-year increase of 0.70% (decreased by 26 persons),
of which employees in health sector were 3,041, decreased by 1.01%;
employees in pharmaceutical sector were 700, jumped by 8.86%. The
number of doctors per 10,000 inhabitants decreased by from 9.50

persons in 2017 down 8.50 persons in 2018.
In 2018, the rate of infants vaccinated fully reached 96.81%. The
rate of under-5 children with weight-for-age malnutrition was 16.5%.

2. Culture, information and sport

In 2018, cultural and art activities; the work of propaganda and
raising awareness of national holidays and political missions were
held widely in the province.

3. Living standards
In 2018, in addition to the general difficulties of the whole
country, Hoa Binh province was also seriously damaged by natural
disasters. While the whole province is trying to overcome the
consequences of the flood and landslide, landslides in October 2017,
then from July 15 to July 31, 2018, heavy rains occurred, causing
flash floods and floods , serious landslide damages many
